Verkada Access Control FAQs
Will I have to approve an MFA prompt whenever I use the app to enter through a door?
- No, you will only need to approve an MFA prompt when logging into the app itself for the first time, after your password expires, or after two weeks of not using the app.
Will this also affect the drive through gates and pedestrian gate?
- Yes, the south gate and the pedestrian gate that currently have a numeric keypad will be upgraded to the Verkada Access Control system. The north gate will continue to function as it has been - opening during business hours and closing after, with no reader access.
Will I need Wi-Fi connection to unlock the doors?
- No, the Verkada Pass application uses Bluetooth and Location services to recognize and unlock doors, it should not need a WiFi connection if you are already logged into the app.
What happens if I forget my phone?
- If it is during business hours, you can be buzzed into the building by the Front Desk at doors with intercoms, similar to how you can now. If it is outside of business hours, you will need to get your phone to be able to enter the building.
Can you track my device while location services are enabled for this app?
- No - the location services from the app strictly communicate with the readers at the doors to see when you are approaching. We have no ability to track the location of your devices with this system.
