Setting up MFA on a new phone
When you receive a new phone, you will need to change what device MFA is setup to send the approval notifications to. Please follow the steps below to re-setup your device for MFA approvals:
- Go to the following website and log in with your @teamAET.com email: aka.ms/mfasetup
- If you no longer have access to your old phone to receive an approval notification, you will need to hit the I can’t use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now option and then choose to send either a text or phone call to the number listed:

*Note* If you do not have access to this phone number anymore, you will need to contact IT to have MFA temporarily disabled on your account to get everything setup with your new device’s information.
3. On the Security Info screen, delete the device listed as Microsoft Authenticator

4. Back on the Security Info screen, hit Add sign-in method to setup the Authenticator App notifications on the new device

5. Select Authenticator App from the dropdown and hit Add

6. Follow the On-Screen steps to install the Microsoft Authenticator app, Allow Notifications, Add a Work or School Account, and Scan the QR code. Once the account is added, approve a notification on your mobile device to complete the setup.

7. On the Security Info screen, hit the Change button to change the default sign in method:

8. Change the dropdown to App based Authentication – Notification and hit Confirm

9. You should see the Default Sign-in Method changed to the Microsoft Authenticator.
10. Within the Authenticator app on the phone, Turn off App Lock by going to Settings > App Lock and make sure this switch is OFF. This removes the extra pin that happens after every approval.
