How to Change Primary Monitor Right-Click anywhere on your desktop and select Display Settings. On the Settings window that opens, select the monitor that you want to make the primary from the pictures at the top. Hitting the Identify button will show numbers on your monitors to show which is which if you are unsure. Once that monitor is selected, scroll down and check the Make this my main display box.
